Sizing Tip - Its best to use your discretion here a little. Kids (they are often a bit more agile) or people with a bit of previous ocean experience are generally best suited to the higher end of the recommended weight scale. Adults or Complete learners are probably best suited toward the lower end of the weight scale.

For 7-10 years old kids learners, we usually recommend a 6'6 Chop Stick or Pop Stick.

For adult beginners, the height of the rider would also have to be taken into consideration, if over 6'2 tall, we would recommend an 8ft Chop Stick or Pop Stick for example.

6'6" X 21 1/4" X 3 1/8" (50L)

We would recommend this for beginner riders weighing 45-65kg, although if you are an experienced surfer of any weight, you'd be able to use this to get your wave count up on the smaller days. Having one of these in your quiver is a surefire way to ensure there is no waves too small or too crowded, so you'll be surfing more than ever!

 *Soft Fins Set Included

*Please note: Leash is not included

*Fin boxes are compatible with high-performance dual tab fins.

Softlite Chop Stick

The Chop Stick has become the most popular board in our range, and with good reason. It's the perfect addition (or starting point) to your quiver, to help you surf more often, catch more waves and have more fun!

It's available in sizes from 6'0 through to 9'0, so there's a board there for everyone, depending on your size and skill level.

KEY FEATURES

SHAPE

The Chop Stick uses our Mini Mal template. This is ideal for learning as they paddle fast, allowing you to catch more waves, and give you a little more time to get to your feet. Once your up and riding, the wider nose makes them extremely stable.

THICKNESS

We have been mindful to make the Chop Stick a touch thinner than the typical Soft Surfboard. While a thicker board is good for the early stages of learning, they are much harder to turn! By keeping the Chop Stick a touch thinner, this ensures your board doesn't hold you back once you start progressing.

Rails

Due to our Moulded Core process, we have been able to refine our rails profiles (particularly at the front end), so they are nice and rounded, and not sharp and bulky. This help to stop you from nosediving & catching rails while riding, and similarly to the thickness, makes the board a bit more responsive through turns.

BAMBOO STRINGER TECHNOLOGY

We use Bamboo Stringers, re-enforced with fibreglass sheeting and epoxy resin to give the perfect amount of flex, and greatly decreasing the chance of snapped boards.

The introduction of this technology has meant we've had very few snapped boards!

Bones AND SHANKS FIN SYSTEM

Easy to install and remove fins. Compatible with other fin two tab systems, allowing you to change your fins to suit conditions or alter board performance.

This also allows us to have a Deck without fin screws.

EXCLUSIVE SOFTLITE MOULDS

These have been created through collaboration with our Softlite Team and renowned surfboard shapers.

Using moulds ensures that every board comes out identical with no imperfections. It also creates a harder shell of EPS foam on the outside making Softlite boards stiffer and more durable than competitors who use similar cores.

WHAT TO EXPECT

BEGINNER RIDERS

The Chop Stick is the ultimate first surfboard.

We reckon the more waves you catch, the quicker you'll improve, so we've tried to keep that in mind when designing this board.

The Chop Stick shape utilises a Mini Mal template ensuring they paddle fast so you'll catch plenty of waves and are extremely stable once your up and riding.

In saying that though, we understand no-one wants to be a beginner forever, so the Chop Stick has been designed with progression in mind.

We've made sure its not to thick, so once you improve it will allow you to start doing more advance turns etc

WHAT TO EXPECT

Experienced Riders

Well, we cant create waves, but we reckon the Chop Stick will do a pretty good job of getting you in the water when you normally might turn around and head home (and its always worth it right?!)

The extra paddle power will greatly increase your wave count once your out there too, but may lose you some friends in the line-up!

On top of that, when designing the Chop Stick, we were mindful to not make it too thick, and keep the rails quite refined, so you can still rip them through a few turns if the opportunity arises!

brighten up your day
