Overview:

This Test Tube is a little different from the 7'0 & 8'0 Models as it uses our Pop Stick 7'6 Template. This board is narrower, with a slightly more pulled-in nose and tail tail for increased maneuverability.

While it's still very generous in volume, this is more of a mid-length style template (As opposed to a Minimal), so you can squeeze a little bit more performance out of it, and it will generally go a better in quality waves.

It uses the same Classic construction style (not Epoxy Hybrid), with the additional features of Parabolic Rolled Rails & Mesh slick.

These extra features help to improve the responsiveness, performance, and durability of the board, while also ensuring it is still very user-friendly to ride.

Technical Specs;

Core:100% Waterproof Moulded EPS Core
Deck: 10lb PE Deck
Slick: Xtra Duralinx Slick
Reinforcements: Double Moulded Stringer system

Fins: Thruster Fin Set Up with Bones and Shanks Fin System. (Soft Fins Included)

*Please kindly note: The Parabolic rails construction (glued laminated layers), while providing increased durability and performance, we've had some feedback that their texture can cause discomfort for some people. We recommend taking precautionary measures to ensure a more enjoyable surfing experience. (Consider wearing a wetsuit to provide an additional layer of protection against any potential inner thighs skin irritation.)

Softlite test tube range

The Test Tube is a Deluxe Version of our top-selling Softlite Chop Stick series.

The major difference is that it features Rolled Parabolic Rails & Mesh infused slicks primarily aimed to increase performance and durability.

While we've always marketed it toward experienced surfers, the Test Tube is equally as suited to beginner riders as well as the extra features make the board a bit more user-friendly to ride also!

What's Different about the test tube?

KEY FEATURES

rolled parabolic rails

This was originally designed to increase performance our shorter boards, but we've found it to make the bigger boards a bit more user friendly to ride also.

Each board contains 4 crosslink rails. These rails are then hand shaped, allowing softer rails near the nose tapering down to a sharp, harder edged rail at the tail. Similar to regular fibreglass surfboards, it allows if to be forgiving and not catch rails up front, but gives it a bit more bite making it easier to turn off the tail.

Similarly, to a stringer it also provides extra stiffness in the board, and generally helps to increase the durability of the board.

KEY FEATURES

MESH INFUSED SLICKS

This is technology derived from bodyboarding, who lead the way in using EPS / HDPE Slick combinations.

The Reinforced mesh is infused into the Dura HD Slick. This provides a frame of strength, which not only improves stiffness but also recoil, so making it easier to pump from rail to rail with the right amount of tension.

plus all the usual softlite features..

Moulded Cores

We have created and refined our moulds in collaboration with our team riders an renowned surfboard shapers.

Using mould ensures that every board comes out identical with no imperfections. It also creates a harder shell of EPS foam on the outside making Softlite boards stiffer and more durable than competitors who use similar cores.

Bones And shanks fin system

With this system it is extremely easy to install and remove fins. It is compatible with other fin two tab systems, allowing you to change your fins to suit conditions or alter board performance.

It also allows us to have our deck free of fin screws!

bamboo stringer technology

We use Bamboo Stringers, re-enforced with fibreglass sheeting and epoxy resin to give the perfect amount of flex, and greatly decreasing the chance of snapped boards.

Since the introduction of this technology, we've had very few boards snap!
